Can I ask what the accommodation quarters for families is like? I went to 2009 Astrofest by myself and stayed in my tent. Must admit I didn't take too much notice of what the rooms were like. Considering coming again this year and may have wife and baby with for at least one night. Separate showers/toilets? Kristy is no princess, but does like some privacy and comforts.

Hey Troy,
You still have to share facilities with other families. The rooms are comfortable and warm, but you'll be sleeping in single beds.

Family accomodation at Astrofest

Hi Troy and Others,

Yes, there is family accomodation. It's in Bayley House, and there are 5 x 4 bed, 1 x 6 bed and 1 x 2 bed rooms. There is reasonable privacy, and Tony S-H says that doors have now been fitted to the rooms. There are 5 toilets, 5 showers and a couple of sets of basins, though they are shared between everyone in the House. I would be quite comfortable taking my family up if they were interested, (but they're not). There is also a Common Room which will have a TV and videos to keep kids occupied, but one thing to bear in mind is that children are early risers, and make a fair bit of noise w.e.f. about 5.30am, so don't say you haven't been warned.

I have updated the floor plan to show doors.

Hi Troy,

There have been doors on the rooms in Bayley House for a couple of years, the facilities are shared with other families, but there are three sets of toilets and showers (one is handicap friendly).

Hope this answers,

Cheers
Tony

Thanks Tony for the update, I've amended my copy of the drawing accordingly, and updated my previous post.

Just over two days until registration opens!

Shh, don't tell anyone, but if you register in the first month, you will get to book at 2010 rates. After that it will go up a couple of bucks all round...

The Web Page is still not quite finalised, but I'm sure JB will post the link when he's finished his magic.

I'm off camping for the Easter break, so I hope the rain stays away.

I'm opening Registration at Midnight tonight! Just follow the registration menu options on the Qld Astrofest Site: http://www.qldastrofest.org.au

I'm giving the first IIS'er to register a bottle of limited edition "Cloudy Night Port", but there is a catch - You must write "Astrojunk Rocks!" in the comments field to qualify

(BTW, I'm playing with the site right now, so things are likely to change between now and midnight - please don't try and register before )

We're doing a t-shirt this year, a simple and timeless design...

No hurry, wait until stuff opens again next week - we can always put your scope on ebay if the bank won't let you transfer the cash

So does that mean I have to register again??? Yesterday I checked the site just to see if it's open yet & it was so I registered.
As of last night there was only 1 registered person showing so I assume that was me .

Is it me??? Or has my registration not "gone thru" ???? Disapointed I didn;t see this post first Jonathan..
