Emanuel - this image is fantastic. We'd be honoured to take it! If you could upload the highest resolution version of it that you have, along with a photo of you or your imaging rig and a brief description of how you both captured and processed it, it'd be wonderful. A description of how and where to do that is here:

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=49916

PS - Are you the same Emanuel that I bought my Takahashi Teegul SkyPatrol II from by any chance?

Hi Chris,

Are you getting the book printed locally? Or is this being done by an online self publish type company. I've used an online company to publish, the quality was pretty good (I couldn't pick the difference). Not sure if you've ordered test copies of the printers work but I found the online companies were very good (it all comes down to the quality of image supplied to them).

Regards

Ray

Hi there Ray!

Yes, the book is being printed locally in Sydney, by a company running an HP Indigo digital press. Great for short runs, and the sane type of press that these other guys use too. They're the best for this short-run colour work.

Are you submitting an image from your wonderful gear? How's the Epsilon going?

Cheers
Chris

That's awesome mate. The quality will be good. Do you guys have to do a minimum print run or are they totally flexible on the numbers?

Sure mate, I would love to.

Haven't had the Epsilon out for about a year now (primarily because I haven't been going bush). But I am about to buy a monochrome CCD camera purposely for when the Epsilon is setup in my observatory (it is an awesome scope and deserves more photons). I've just bought a C14 as well, so that is going to keep me busy on the planetary learning curve.

How is your mobile Tak setup going? Are you still shooting film?

Ray

I have read all the post's etc, and something tells me that in IIS we are short of imagers, or they are reluctant to post.

We have 6000 people here, and you cant tell me that we can't get 70 or so photo's for this book.

Come on guys you as me don't have to be perfect, show us what you have and enjoy your image in print.

Send Chris your efforts now,

Leon

Lol i have another couple of images to throw in the book if it has to be, and i think a lot of others can do the same (it is hard to choose a single picture as your best picture).

Just send in your best or favourite picture you have people and buy the book
