A good point Eric.

My usual plan of attack for a post is to
A) Type it out.

B) Read it and correct the spelling
(usually caused by my bad typing skills)

C) Re-read it again to see if it makes sense. This part is of course
dependent on the amount of Vino that has been tippled.

D) Add smileys if required.

Cheers

And let’s not forget, we all have so much more in common than our at times fragile egos may lead us to believe, especially when we find ourselves in an agitated condition.
  • We all love astronomy.
  • We’re all members of the IIS community, as well as the human race.
  • We are the fortunate few; our mundane problems can be swept aside when we lift our eyes each night, to feast on the celestial delights in the amazing skies of this grand land down under.
  • We all make mistakes, say and do daft things.
  • At the time, these may seem important.
  • But no one is dropping bombs on our homes.
  • Or shooting at us.
  • With time, our arguments and differences fade away.
  • Become dim and distant memories.
  • No longer hot under the collar.
  • So let’s live and let live.
  • Forgive and forget.
  • Accept our differences.
Viva l'Astronomie
Viva bonhomie!
Viva la difference!
Viva La Vida Loca!

Cheers

Hi there Toryglen-boy
"Peter Perfects" "very pious Opinion" "habit of cropping up" Lol you have made my day, more humour in this thread I say.
However "talking to you like your 5 and it's not the first time" have me completely stumped as I have looked backed through all my posts and I see no reference or inference to you? If there is anything that I have posted that offends you then I apologise, but I really don't know what for. Those who know me on this site know that is not what I am about. Sure lets get back to the Astronomy, that's why we are here.

"Blogger Discrimination

I am really very offended with aspects of the implication of this thread.
What is most offensive is the starter of this thread's saying;

"If they read their own posts surely they can see what is wrong, so why don't they go in and fix the offending sentence."

The point is there are people who have various forms of disabilities who can't "avoid" being wrong.

I am one of them!!

It is not their thought processes that is the problem - it is physically doing the conversion from the thought to the act of typing the text.

Plainly this suggestion it another intimidating form of unwarranted discrimination.

I think you have taken this thread out of all proportion
I had no thoughts what so ever along those lines.
The post was not an attack on anybodies disabilities, but a plea for people to read before they post.
I am not to know who has a disability or not, but the post was for the general membership.
I take offense at your inference
In reading your posts in the past, I have seen no reason to complain

Now let trying a condescending approach, eh?
Frankly, I couldn't give a toss about me.
How about the other half-a-million of the Australian population that might also have some problem?

Awesome!

I'll say this.. I don't like it when something is difficult to read due to excessive mistakes in spelling, or words missing, or totally misused; That said I'm certain that I've done it before... And fairly certain that it will happen again.. Its all that excitement after a nights imaging; then an early morning spent processing, ready to post the pics.. I rant and ramble without any regard for my spelling/grammar/punctuation.. I just want the pics on the forum ASAP!!

So I will try to make things more understandable and refrain from crazy misuse of words etc. However I wont make any promises..

Alex.

I am the father and primary carer of a severley disabled 21 year old son. I spend a lot of time with people with various disabilities who get their messages, verbal and written across far better and clearer than many of us. Indeed your post is clearly presented Enchilada but I take none and I see no discrimination or offence in Rons original post whatsoever. How did this thread get so far off track?

Through a lot of grammar and spelling mistakes perhaps.

If we had to think that every time we write a post that some person in the thousands out there who might read it might take offense because of a disability they have, we would be all saints and have to put a disclaimer saying no offense to people with a disability meant
