Good night had by all until the clouds spoilt the party.
Was great to see many new faces in the mix, and the old crowd.
I left early as I'm just way too tired.
Highlight tonight was using (Kombie) Geoff's 10" Meade to do some binoviewing of globular clusters. Oh, and watching Norm do circles trying to find his way out.
Regards,
Humayun

The good:
A few hours of clear sky,
Quite a few new comers showing a lot of interest,
Usual good company,
The bad:
The new house lights across the road to the east,
doesn't look like it will be easy to put red buckets on these ones.
Seems to be a lot more red lights in the club house???
Lessons learned:
Make sure you remember which end of your new paracorr is position 5 and which is 1.
(why don"t they just put numbers on it?)
Greg.

That was great! Even travelling just a little further inland, it was astonishing to see just how many more stars, satellites and DSO's were visible.
Many thanks to all who offered to share their gathered light with us newcomers.
I think, though, that it may have made my buying decision just that little more complicated.
So .... when's the next viewing night, then?

Had a great night again. It was good to see a lot of people there.
I was pleased with the first light for my new GSO wide angle eyepieces for the " binos"
They exceeded my expectations for less expensive eyepieces.

We had a pretty good run until the clouds rolled in sometime after midnight.
Great to see some new scopes and faces in the field including a pair of SDM 14.5 inch dobs.
Highlight? Picking out Lulin nacked eye.
Cheers

I didn't bring my scope this time round but it was good to get a view though a few others' scopes - thanks to Rick, Greg (GB Astro), & Geoff (In my kombie). I left just before 12, cloudy as at home when I got there but thought it was still good up there. Not the case eh?
Rick good to see you there despite the family circumstances - hope the mum in law gets well soon. RB hope the kids to had a good time - good to see more of the clan there. Ash and the other first timers hope you had a good time, you're welcome back any time. 'Shano592' decisions, decisions, decisions. Phil, good to see you there again. Many of us saw the horsehead 'naked eye' riding high in the west, despite the house lights to the east. Geoff (Owl), thanks for the red lights in the club house. We don't want too many though - passers by might get the wrong idea. Overall thanks for the good company. Till next time.

Excellent rollup this time and to all those who made it including all the first timers we hope you had a good one and enjoyed all the horsin' around as well as some good company as usual as you always do at the PC.
Seeing didn't reach any heights but plenty of good objects to see such as comet Lulin. Thanks to GTB for those 'breakfast' snag rolls and your miniature wagon wheels Bones (yes it was me who knocked off your last one..couldn't help myself ). Thanks to all for looks through various scopes.
Thanks Bones for your thoughts for the MiL, she is doing OK now, but will take some time to mend.
What's with your new avatar Deeno? Is that your rendition of "Deeno of Arabia"
Cheers till next one.

thanks everyone,
Hi all,
Thanks everyone, i had a great time and met some great people. On behalf of my mate Marc i will also say thanks he had a great time and was impressed with how nice and friendly everyone was. He is really struggling to decide what type of scope to upgrade to but I think he should buy a computer and internet connection first....bloody luddite.
I didn't realise that astronomy had so much in common with fishing, get your gear out the car, point your scope at the sky (throw your line in) crack open a stubby and start chatting...It was great...
I am sure we'll both be back work permitting.
Thanks again to all
Cheers
Steve

Thanks everyone for a great night, I had a great time with the kids too.
Elizabeth had the 8" LB which we used to track down M42, The Tarantula, Comet Lulin and a few other objects.
Andrew Jr and Rachel had the 70mm Celestron which was keeping them busy.
Great to meet all the new people, glad you all had a nice time.
I ended up taking the kids back home later and then returning back to the PClub.
Thanks to the Owl for the sausage rolls, they were terrific !
We ended up staying back till after 4am (I think), with Geoff (Owl), Alan and Deeno (thanks for the Montecristo mate, lovely cigar) and I love the new avatar !!!
Cheers everyone.
Till next time.......
