Interestingly page 11 of the new AST has the scope from Astro Optical supplies and listed at $2989 with the same accessories listed as the Astromaster scope.
Be interesting to see some comparative shots between yours and mine - as I have some suspicions as to the glass used for the price quoted.

The sample of this lens tested in Germany indicated that the best spherical correction was in the red wavelengths. If someone has the opportunity to test at high power I'm curious whether you can notice a sharper high power image using a red filter? Certainly bargain basement prices mentioned in this thread in any case.

been watching with interest... my opinion is you always get what you pay for, so i hope an image or two is posted (through the scope), i want to see if it is really APO.at 1200 dollars vs several times that for the televue 127 i dont think its performance is going to really turn heads at the higher end of town...... be nice if i am wrong..... i could buy one too.
