You are on the better side North East but IMO South East of Qbyn is the best location as it means all the cool faint things in the southern sky remain in dark skies all night. I tried for this and nearly had a great spot in Hoskinstown but it fell through, it was twice as far out as I am now, just down the road from the Mills Cross Radio telescope and was at 815m ASL! that would have been peeeeerfect. When we are looking to purchase again I will be pushing for that side of Canberra
