Yep, Behind Blue Eyes is a cover of The Who. Personally I prefer the original version.

Pump it up - Elvis Costello
The Wanton Song - Led Zep
Janie Jones - The Clash
Or maybe....

Subject to change as soon as I hear something that I'd forgotten about.

Obviously. Otherwise 'Won't get fooled again' would be at the top of your list.
I'm not even goint to try and define a top 3, just throw three more names onto the list.
- Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who on Who's Next (since the album was mentioned).
- Kontact - Peter Gabriel on Peter Gabriel IV (German version)
- 21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson on In the Court of the Crimson King (but is it rock?)
- Baby's On Fire - Brian Eno on Here Come the Warm Jets (Rolling Stone magazine once voted this as having the archtypical 1970's guitar solo).
Ahhh .... that's 4 .... whatever.
Dave
Ric, I love Heavy Horses but what about Journeyman or No Lullaby from that album, plus most of Songs from the Wood?

Seeing as you mentioned King Crimson, if you check out the link I posted, guess who's on the fretless bass? ; )

It's a Chapman Stick. But, yes that tall bald bloke gets around a bit. I don't think he's in KC at the moment (I don't keep up) but I think he's still in Gabriel's band.
