I'vw been on hols and missed this thread. I also haven't watched the series of startreck and only part of 1 movie (I use to work as a projectionist when I was a student and you have to see at least some of the movie as it goes onto the screen)
I just found them boring. As for the new version of Battle Star Galactica.

If it is on the channels with adds I haven't seen it either.
I would much rather read the scifi books and not watch them on TV.
