Bother, just saw this news, yes very sad and this community will be less colourful and interesting because of Alex's loss. I hope he is flying amongst the stars that he so loved.

This is indeed unwelcome news. Alex was certainly a character on these forums and I often read through his posts and threads. It was always entertaining. I am sure he will be missed by many out there. RIP.

This is a significant loss to our community. I never met Alex in person but have seen his posts here frequently and he's always had something valuable to add to the discussions.
RIP Alex, and condolences to Alex's family too.

Very sad news for everyone. A long time ago he used to moderate for me when I had my own forum, he was loved and valued there as well. We kept in touch since, my thoughts go out to friends and family. He will be missed...

Oh no. I have not been on IIS for a while and just saw this thread. Never met Alex in person - came close on occasion but it didn’t happen for one reason or another- but always thought of him as a buddy.
So sorry to hear this sad news.
RIP

Sorry to hear. We all come and we go and in doing so Alex has left a piece of himself here that makes the world just as little bit better.
Bye Alex Salute!

I have been offline for a few weeks, and only just saw this.
Terrible news and great loss to this community. Alex was always setting off thought bombs, and I really did enjoy the engagement that he brought.
Rest peacefully, good man.
