Currently (and all the way through to Monday) I'm listening to the ABC Classic100 countdown (Music in the Movies). Now playing: the Vertigo score by Bernard Herrmann

Cheers
Steffen.

iBucho! - self-titled album from Sacramento based indi-soul-R&D band Bucho. Heard them play live (and bought the album) when I spent some time at UCDavis back in 2005.

Steffen.
An English bloke, Howard Goodall, who does a lot of TV music, did a fascinating series of his musical heroes. Bernard Herrmann was one of them. Unique arrangements and harmonies. Bernstein was another.

OK, all - I wish to expand my growing appreciation of Thrash Metal - what do you recommend? My limited exposure to this genre is via Metallica and Iron Maiden - I just love Bruce Dickinson's vocals...appreciate any tips/pointers

Having some nostalgic listening with The Sunnyboys, New Order, Joy Division and Ed Kuepper. Then relaxed late last night with Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (never ever tire of it). And also checking out The National and Mumford and Sons.

listening

Just ordered a secondhand vinyl copy of The Snakes Of Shake, " Gracelands and the Natural Wood LP from amazon.
Cool guitar folky cajun rock from the eighties- and my cassette is starting to wear out!
Anything by The Chameleons or Bauhaus!!
(ex goth showing through!)
Mainly I have anything by Ryan Adams or Whiskeytown in my car, gotta love that!

Adam, first off go and have a listen to Exodus - "Bonded By Blood", the
whole album, not just the song. If you like Bruce Dickinson, I think you'll
like the late great Paul Baloff.

Cheers,
Jason.

I'm with Steffen. Although now we're up to #24, the Harry Potter score.

Star Wars is the unbackable favourite for #1

Classic movie themes

I'm another culture vulture listening to ABC FM. I'm backing the theme from Lawrence of Arabia for No. 1.
