can't you just accept the verdict? the icetrade rules are there for a reason? no its not a perfect world and its certainly not a democratic site, it has rules which all of you accepted when you joined.
speaking as an ex moderator can say that the number of things that a moderator has to get through on here is a lot. having to individually reply to regular users who know the rules and continue to flaunt them - well you do the math.... not enough time in the day.
lazy way out - no - because they were busy cleaning up ice trades some spammer probably hit the site then they will have to deal with that as well?
it was certainly a huge frustration to me, burned me out really. so ask yourself this, do you really have to add a comment in ice trades?
2nd PM on its way , and Mike I did send you a PM last night , my sent messages conferms this ? ,
Woaw ! , Brian's kicked the hornets nest ..
I realise you jobs as Mod's is not easy , my job as a Boilermakers w/s leading hand is similer , we are the " Meat in the Sandwich " and you 'cant please all the people all the time ' and ' some of the people some of the time ' I realise this , but a problem has occured and I beileve its better for you guys to be aware of it in the open forums for all to see ? . sorry mate .

No bloody posts of his were deleted. Simple as that.
Absolute rubbish. Send me a specific example of this happening or I'm going to start getting really mad at your ridiculous claims.
Either 3 things are happening:
1. You have absolutely no idea what you posted in and what you didn't
2. You have no idea how to find the threads you posted in
3. You're trolling and purposely posting this thread, and continuing to post in this thread (without even contacting me) with the intent of causing problems.
If it's #1 or #2, a little education might help and you can apologise to myself and the moderators for the accusations and admit your own fault.
If it's #3 you'll find yourself on a permanent holiday from IceInSpace.
Seriously Leon?
The rule wasn't made up just because I felt like it. It was because people ASK for chatter to be deleted in THEIR for sale threads.
It's because some people think it's a good idea to post things like negative comments that could hurt the sale.
Even when the comments don't hurt the sale, some people think it's the seller getting their 'friends' to comment to try and make the sale look better than it really is. So it then still hurts the sale.
You can't post chatter to ads on ebay.
You can't post chatter to ads on trading post, or in the paper.
You can't post chatter to ads on IceTrade.
There's been times we've almost setup the system to completely disallow ANY comments on the IceTrade threads, simply to avoid having to have the TOS 'ask' people not to post chatter. That way it would FORCE people to ask questions via PM and we wouldn't have this issue.
People like to post their 'PM sent' etc so we haven't implemented this yet.
But when some people (Leon and Brian included) continue to post chatter in IceTrade, despite having your posts continually deleted in IceTrade, it certainly makes me think a forced system implementation would be better.
There's 22 different sub-forums you can post replies on. Don't post in IceTrade unless you're selling something or asking a question with the possible intention of buying the item. It's a really simple rule.
Malcom for MOD's , you got my vote mate , its what we need here , more lawyers .. sorry mate , but good points .
Brian.

See (taken from clause 10 of the TOS)
Please don't post replies to someone else's ad unless it's specifically related to the item - that is, if you're asking relevant questions about it, perhaps with a view to purchasing. Keep off-topic and spam posts out of the IceTrade Classifieds. It's not going to help someone sell their gear if the threads contain off-topic posts.
and if I was trying to sell something I don't want comments cluttering up my ad. There is a whole raft of equipment fora here on IIS to give comments on gear, likes and dislikes, why clutter up someone elses ad to do that? I will confess I made a comment on an ad at one time, simply trying to be helpful to a prospective purchaser about some non astro gear that I have personal expertise about and the OP (rightly) was mighty upset about it.
Lets all just take a deep breath, maybe have a read of the TOS and try to be a little more, I dunno, relaxed. Really, its just a forum!!
Oh and there is a specific invitation in the TOS that if any member has a problem with the actions of a mod they can take it up with Mike. Of course it is his site so he can do whatever he likes on it!

So its simple, Brian. All you have to do is send us a link to the thread where your post is supposed to be deleted from, and we will be able to see who deleted it (if it was) and whether or not a PM was sent, or whether the post was never there.
Keep in mind:
Just because you went through the motions typing a post, doesn't mean it made it to IIS. The same could happen with a PM, but if it made it to your sent box, I expect it would appear in the receivers Inbox being in the same system.
I hear ya , ' Bottle of wine , feeling so fine ....),,, , the problem still remains , some answers to some threads are dissapareing .
And its becoming more prevelevent .
Slicker cyber thugs ? .
