Wow..
That was absolutely amazing to watch, first time ive seen a live feed of a launch... Its interesting to see and hear what goes on behind the scenes without all the 'Hollywood gloss' used in movie depictions... Also great to see more than the puff of smoke they show on the news.
A great experience, i wish i could have actually been there to see one launch, but looks like ive missed out...lol

That'd be right.
I forgot about it, was watching Law & Order on TV1, it finished and I switched over to FoxNews only to be told that it was a great launch . . . . 1 hour ago!
That'll teach me to take more notice of the time

Ooh, bad luck Ken and Adrain.
The Space Shuttle Atlantis will be the lucky last, and planned to take off in July.

I agree Eric, they are beautiful crafts.
It will be a sad day when they are all retired. An end of a era.

Good launch. A couple of astronauts were already seated when I started watching. I shut down when they started showing the replays.
No problems with bandwidth. Watched the lot with 1.3GB to spare.
Had a quick look on my iPod Touch today. Saw the External Fuel Tank floating away although I didn't see the tank burn up. Does anyone know if those replays are available?

Replay of? External tank burnup video is rare. I think it occurs somewhere over the Pacific and I've only ever seen one bit of footage of that event.
Here is a reference to it:-
"the tank detaches from the orbiter and breaks up in the atmosphere. This whole process happens over French Polynesia where there are very very few people There's not too many videos of it actually exploding, although I have tracked one down. Go to nasa . gov, search for Marshall Space Flight Center, click on their home page, and then in their search box, type in "STS 29 External tank" and it should be the second thing that comes up. For some reason it's not allowing me to link"

OK. Near the end of the launch you see a shot from the tank of the shuttle moving away. Then you hear that the crew are repositioning the shuttle to take footage of the tank. It was the view of the tank taken from the shuttle that I saw on my iPod, and that is the footage that I would like to see again.
I was using the NASA Ap on the iPod Touch watching NASA TV. I wish I was watching it on my computer instead.

Thanks for the link. Using the link I found something like what I saw on my iPod, although what I saw was moving not a picture.
Here is a link to the type of image I saw on my iPod:

Interesting, that is above land. But I understand that it falls somewhere around Tahiti? I would have expected water.

Henry,
What you're looking for is available in a YouTube video titled Shuttle Launch from Orbiter (from memory). It is an (I think) 11 minute long video taken from the cockpit, 3 minutes prior to launch, until MECO. After MECO, they show the external tank floating underneath the craft, for a few moments. You don't see it burn up and fall into the atmosphere, though.
