good one Ian on the 800, and you can be proud it wasn't on company time - I get home and I'm too knackered to post much, more just cruise the threads...

hey I just remembered what this is all about again, I have assemblies of polished metal and glass, there's a sky outside (of sorts), it has shiny things in it, maybe I could look at those instead

aahh, a guilt free post... it's Saturday and work is but a distant memory

today I will do real astronomy, I will look at the grey sky in anticipation, I will hope, I will dream of what could be, I will give up and play with kids and then then spend a pleasant hour rearranging and polishing my eyepieces....

love the evil sponge bob asi too

I know mine does in a bulk way, ie just total GBs downloaded each month by dept for costing purposes. We've only had 2 suggestions to cut down if possible in the last year . I think that was when Google Earth was all the rage.

Im sure any company could if they wanted to.

My work monitors everything, thats why I hacked their own database recorder and took a sample of the data recording files for all PC's at work. I personally caught over half of the IT staff including the manager at ****ography sites and thus I would dare say I have the evidence. As with their own policy, the staff member involved viewing or passing on forbidden material is instantly dissmissed.

They don't know I have the information and it is in a safe place. yes i broke another rule and hacked the server, but it wasthere and their security at the time was hopeless.

As for the web useage we are directly billed by IT for the amount of data used. they charge for upstream and downstream data transfers at almost double the rate. My home service is quicker and more reliable then work! More secure too.
