I like the new shot Baz, but I'm with Jen.
How about one with you smiling standing next next to your camera? We want to see your face Baz. Go on, go back and pose again.. you are a difficult subject to photograph, you are!

Actually, I remembered a photo that you sent in that I really liked so I went looking and found it. Now this is the kind of photo that I'm talking about.

Actually, it is a 'Catch 22' situation.

You want a really good photo of yourself, but if it turned out to be really good, I'd want to hire the person who took it.

You and all my friends here at IIS have been great in this regard and never been so rude as to suggest such a thing. We are all different and I so respect that. You guys rock!

Cheers,

Baz.
I would certainly not suggest that you remove such sentiments from your personal web site, I was only suggesting it was perhaps not the most business savy idea to have it appear on a business website, that was all and I wish you well with the business. How has it been working for you so far? Have you been commercial for long?

Mike

I know you wouldn't mate.
I really don't reckon said sentiments should have any effect. If someone is scared off simply because of that, then I guess that's their call. No harm done as far as I'm concerned.

Only that you have lost a potential "paying" customer in this instance who may well have been perfectly good to deal with but they now perhaps think you are some sort of religious crack pot who will try and force their beliefs on them...consumers can be jugmental beings.

You know I mean no harm but in what I imagine would be a challenging specialised industry like nature photography... just being realistic.

You can still have these feelings and influences in your photography but from a business perspective (in Australia) I think it may be an unecessary addition..?

Mike

The photograph prints themselves have nothing on them at all that speaks either way. If someone likes an image and really wants to buy it then only crackpots from the other side would not buy it on principle?

I try to please God, so not really worried about what man thinks of me...crackpot?...I can cop that and more (been called that and worse) on the chin without a fuss.

I hear what you are saying mate and appreciate you are trying to help, but as important as compromise usually is with my way of working with people, compromising my faith for a buck is not on the table. Lose money because of it? So be it.

Works for Ken Duncan, one of the most successful Photographers in Australia. He has his faith plastered all over his website.

Again, I am not trying to argue as I respect everyone's choices. Your advice is noted and appreciated Mike (I mean that).

Baz.
