You must work at a similar place as I do but left out Project Managers. Every time you think you have an Account Manager or PM trained they move on to some other project, another one takes over and you have to start all over again.
I know where all the skeletons are buried and why things are done the way they are because I've been there so long.

What's your day job
I work as a Customs Officer at Adelaide International Airport - well maybe "work" is a bit of an exaggeration, it is the government after all

My brother and I own a small commercial printing business, so I spend all day in front of a computer fighting with PDF files. No wonder my eyesight is buggered.

Student Systems Officer at Uni of Adelaide, in School of Chemistry & Physics.
I have a Physics degree so it's a great place to hear about the latest Physics research, specifically Astrophysics, and rub shoulders with leading researchers. I also help out with the 1st year Astronomy subject viewing night. It's also where the ASSA hold there meetings!

Sounds like what I do...albeit in an AsiaPacific role Although I'm currently going through a phase where I really hate my job and feel like I'm in a rut...hopefully it'll pass...

Not really but I don't stop anybody from believing in it. I read the horoscope only when it's good.

Technician in a uni geochemistry lab. I mostly run stable-isotope mass spectrometers but also fiddle with GCs and HPLCs. Finally got someone else to run the ICP-MS. The job isn't too hard, just a bit specialised. There is a bit of science, a bit of technology, a bit of troubleshooting nouse, a fair amount of staying under the radar of the beaurocrats and a lot of trying to get others to do their bit for me (this weeks it's IT services - their new network broke my nice automated data backup system).
BTW, Dave there have been previous threads on this topic but it's worth revisiting the topic periodically. Perhaps the last thread is still in the archive.

Dude! Does this mean discount rounds for IIS members???
I'm a Health and Safety Manager and Trainer for a global mining equipment manufacturer. Pay's only ok at best, but I love the work, it can be as rewarding as it is frustrating.
