I've seen that happen Chris, It's freaky to watch when the blanket of babies just cover the floor in all directions.
JJJ You have nerves of steel, i would have done my best not to prang but I think I would have been screaming uncontrollably and loosing it, I had an incident with a cockroach lunging at my leg from under the seat while I was driving a friends old beat up car. I screamed hysterically and pulled over straight away leaping out. Very embarrassing!
About the spider catching dance - has everyone seen this one....

You brought back an awful memory - I was driving, naturally thought the spider was on the outside of the windscreen - it was not, I lept out of my moving car - before anyone starts bagging my driving I missed the children in the playground!
They make me physically ill!
I do like green frogs though!

Haha Liz, yeah it is painfully predictable what's about to happen, it's super funny though he starts screaming before the thing even leaves the ceiling or lands on him

I once decided to take a picture of a big mamma huntsmen and all her babies on the ceiling of our garage perched on an esky.. macro of couse
Well she was pretty cool with things right up until the shutter went click
then she lept off the roof onto my face ... she only stayed a split second before jumping back to the yougins , probably figured out pretty quick nothing good was going to come from hanging with the screaming body that was falling towards the concrete

I think I eventually tossed it Warren (filmstock not digital) it wasn't quite in focus and due to me being winded on the floor decided not to take another.. the photo itself further showed the stupidity of that morning because she was so big ..to add some scale I had decided to blue tack a lighter beside her .. which in hindsight had her pretty enraged before I got near with the camera. .. so I sure deserved what I got

On the original topic, I upset a big Brown this morning, it was hanging around the water tank looking for frogs no doubt.
I was using the whipper snipper around the pump box when it decided I was too close for comfort and took off towards the dam while I was off in the other direction.
A favourable outcome for both of us.

We have an indigenous lady here and to quote her word for word,
" If you get a snake , you call me first. I'll be there with two pieces of bread!"
End quote.
Very reassuring !!

To all you scary spiderfobias, I had the biggy. I was flying my plane at 4,500 ft over scrub when a dirty big brown spider crawled up my leg.
It was so heavy I could feel its weight as it moved ever so close to my family jewels. I said to it one more step and your out off here.......IT MOVED closer.........I opened the canopy & pulled a half roll flicking the nasty with my hand into the empty space above/ below/ out the side.
Never saw him again after that.

My wife wanted me to ask if your parachute worked because that's what she would have done

Hi Warren three questions come to mind here..
1/ Do you know how to use a parachute.
2/ Will it open quickly enough as terminal velocity is 660 ft per second.
3/ Do you have a parachute..........Most pilots don't.

Its her irrational fear I had to restrain her from jumping out of a moving car because of a spider she just stops thinking
