I'll forgive you Ric.
I was listening to "Count Down, One Hit Wonders" today. And singing along to most of them.

For me ....its gotta be Allison Goldfrapp, combined with Will Gregory as a band called GOLDFRAPP.
She is an English Singer / songwriter. I saw her at the Opera House and she sounds exactly as she does on the albums.
She " floats my boat " as it were.
Her voice is just incredible.

Did you ever watch "GTK"?
It used to be on just before Dr Who. Only went for about 10 minutes I think.

I save the louder stuff like Black Dog and Rock and Roll for when I'm doing the housework.
Great motivation music.

Hi Ron.
Tell you what, next time I'm up at your place, I'll put a little Led Zepplin on OK?
You've got to play it really loud though.

I'm always open to compromise Ron. I'll only play it loud, not really loud.

Ditto. My first taste too and has stayed with me a while. GTK played a lot of stuff like Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa and the Mothers & Deep Purple etc plus the Australian bands at the time like Daddy Cool, Aztecs, Lobby Lloyd etc, Brian Cadd.
Apart from Bandstand (which was a completely different sort of show) it is the only rock-music film clip show that was in Black & White that I remember.
Yes, then there was Good 'ol Donny Sutherland (he might have started in B&W now I think of it), Countdown to come. Another one I remember (but can't remember the name of it) was on Channel 10 Sydney weekday afternoons and ran for a 1/2 hr in the mid-70s. It was somewhat more "pop music" oriented and did a lot of Bee Gees etc. What I do remember most about this show was the hostess -- a young lady named Kobe Steele and she had substantial ... attributes
Ahhh, memories ...
Best,
Les D

The actual name of the show was " Right On", and it was shown at 3.30pm during the weekend. Lobe began this program in 1977, and she finished the program in May or June 1978, to disappear into oblivion. Pity. She really did have a big future in front of her!
As for your pleasant "niagara dreams", here is an interesting thread at;
http://www.inthe00s.com/archive/inth...53912704.shtml
This lists the shows on the tele of Saturday 13th May 1978 - almost now 30 years ago!
