I was going to say, I read to page 6 of the other thread and was about to call everyone a noob, until Maverick chimed in.

You, sir, are a legend.

How can you go past GATTACA?

Mesmerising and awe-inspriing.

Regards,
Humayun

Thanks for the tickets IIS & Mike. Saw the movie yesterday with my wife. Effects were pretty good, but wasn't too sure where it was going... the end was a bit of a surprise - just wondering if they were pushing a certain viewpoint on things. Don't want to ruin it for anyone so I'll leave it there.

Just got back from seeing the movie tonight with a friend - yes, its been a while but there was this little thing called the 100 Hours of Astronomy and then easter and then....

Well written film, good special effects. A bit depressing though. I can see some people getting the DVD and slowing down certain parts of it to see how graphically some people are killed, they didn't leave much to the imagination.

I was trying to spot things from Melbourne in it - I thought some of it was filmed there? I thought I recognised the Museum and a city scape. Does that mean most of Boston was computer generated? Also nice to see Ben Mendlesson all grown up. And playing a believable astrophysicist for once! (By this I mean I've seen numerous films where an actor is supposed to portraying an astronomer or astrophysicist and they just dont make it look real. I could believe he was in this.)

We went to see it a couple of weeks ago, saw it mentioned here and thought it might be good

It was reasonably good. I'm not a fan of seeing people chopped up and burning so I could've done with a little less gore on occasions but it wasn't too bad. The ending was a bit surprising, and the very final moments perhaps a little bit of a "what the?! righteo!" but it was OK still. I don't want to say anything to spoil it, but ... what can I say.. I think the end result was a good ending to have for a change.
