Don't worry about that ....I hope I'm lucky enough to do that myself, one day. In the meantime I'm happy with what I have

The clean your room quote was for Brendan, based on my comment about his spelling of collimation, wasnt directed at you, sorry if you took that the wrong way.

Sounds like you have settled on the 12 inch collapsible, good choice based on the support of who you have there at home, be careful of the trolley though, it could scratch things as the base is quite wide at 64cm round and you will need some OTA support such as the original packing foam between the OTA and the trolley.

Have fun with the new toy, sorry to hear about your Pop.

Cheers

Chris

You know, we're all expecting a new comet and at least a supernova or two per month, now you have the 12" dob

Thumbs up

at the moment im trying to learn to counter weight it
when i take the lens covers off the ota points up slowly any sugestions on how to fix it i think it ment for 2 inche eyepieces but i only got 1.25inche so i would like to know how to non perminitly couter weight it i can tighten the tenchon knobs but then its harder to move up down

a comet a month is hard but ill make you a deal ill find an object and you pay me $100 each object.

im now planing for my 80 inche scope but ill wait for the price to go down first ($1500)

Hey Trevor,

Congrats on your new scope. Its a great hobby to get into.

Try sticking some magnets on the end of the scope such as old speaker magnets or or those acquarium magnets - they're both pretty weighty and you can take them off and on as you insert eyepieces in/out.

If your paranoid, you may want to put some cloth/felt before the magnets so as not to scratch the scope.

Good luck and clear skies mate!
