After seeing all the effort and stress that originally Richard Jaworski, and now Greg Priestly, go through at the SPSP imaging comps, it's certainly not something that can be taken on lightly!

Exactly !
Hats off to anyone who tries to organise these star parties and/or imaging comps.
There's just so much organising and behind the scenes effort needed to run the events smoothly.

I'm pretty sure some people stayed there last year, Narayan. I imagine the drive isn't too much fun at night but as long as you take it slow and look out for wildlife, it's probably about a 25 minute drive.

I'm not sure if they have any onsite vans or cabins? I can give them a call if you like. Otherwise, you can grab a bunkbed if you don't want to camp.

So far, 17 adults and 7 children are booked in.

Keep the bookings coming guys!

Thanks to Col Maybury, who wrote about IISAC2008 in the latest Maitland Mercury (attached) using some information supplied in the IISAC2008 press release.

Thanks Col!

With only 2 months to go until IISAC2008, it's time to start planning! Put in those leave forms at work, start buttering up the partner, get the kids excited!

What a great opportunity to observe under dark skies, meet up with old and new friends from the IceInSpace community, and share this great hobby with like-minded people. If you've never been to a star party before, now is the perfect opportunity to get along to your first one. You'll never look back!

We also welcome two new sponsors for IISAC2008 and IISis4 - Australian Sky & Telescope, and The Imaging Source Astronomy Cameras. We thank you for your support.

Only 57 days to IISAC 08!

I was just wondering how long the drive is from Newcastle to Lostock?

Thanks.

Hi Mike
Can we have a "Items for Sale" & " Items Wanted" notice board? I think it would be popular.

Absolutely, Vincent.

I've got a spare white board which can be used for that.

Thanks Mike - same here.

Jenny's not coming at this stage, mainly because we have another puppy litter due a week or so prior, and they'll need looking after. If she can get one of our breeder friends to look after them, then she'll come along. Here's hoping, because we don't get away much these days.

Anyhoo - looking forward to a top event - withoutthe heat!

Hi all
Just a heads-up, you won't receive a confirmation notice from me when your payment is received. If you're really interested or worried about it, feel free to ask.

Otherwise, assume I got your payment and if not, you'd probably hear from me a few weeks after your booking.

Cheers
