Don't know about the "best" - that's still to come baby, yeah!!
But, this is the image that got me hooked. It's the one that made me think I could do better!!
You could say it's the money shot!!!!
LMC, single 60 sec exp, 135mm Pentax SMC lens @ f3.5 iso 400 using a Pentax ist-D DSLR.
Well quality is poor and the colour is off but its been raining with lightning all around..so unplugged everything and while cleaning up old photos I threw these together...being small they look heaps better than if full size,,but I like doing these.

But these are my best Jupiter pictures to date. Taken last April and May.
I took them all with my trusty old Panasonic Video Camera butted up to a barlowed 12.5mm EP.
Imagine if you can, holding the camera steady with one hand, guiding the dob with the other hand and with the other hand focusing the scope.
This would have to be another one of mine. Love this one. Looks good blow up as A1 size poster on my wall.

Very nice indeed.
I made a scope using a shaving mirror set in a balsa frame with an ep from a microscope...it gave a view just like your image... thats how discovered why the mirror is on the other side for a scope
These images of M42 and ngc253 are my current favourites/best although I have posted shots of ngc5139, ngc104, M8, M16, M17 and others that I really like as well. I think we all have our favourites at the time we shoot them ( and they work ) and then we move on.
