I was thinking more along the lines of a tornado type vortex..a replication of water going down the drain.
Do you paint Ispom or express yourself in other art styles?
And dont tell me your sculpture sausages.

Earlier today I had my daughter and a little friend of hers here with me and I was showing them your art.
They were captivated.
I used the opportunity to expain the beauty of math... being able to show them a physical reality of the proposition I put to them.
But they loved all your work.

alex, its a pity that you could't show the figures in original mathcad-
because they are there much more brilliant, rotatable and observable from all perspectives...

animations are also possible in mathcad, for 2D and 3D figures-
but unfortunably I can't them carry into iis

here I show a few spirals, animatable for thickness, extent, length, radius

Hey there Ispom!

You've inspired me to have a play and learn to do some of this in mathcad!

Here's some of my humble first attempts...

My attempts are a bit hit and miss at the moment, as all my maths and engineering books are packed away so I don't have much reference material readily to hand to pick out interesting functions. Never mind - at least I'm playing with mathcad, and after we move and I can set my office up again I'll be away!

And a couple more playing about with the waves theme... (actually fixing up a typo in the last one of the first post!)

hi Al,
I’m very pleased to see a new mathcad follower!
what a version do you use?
if you work with mathcad 8 or higher version with the ability vieable also in downscale versions,
you can transfer me the mcd files and we can see our creations in full beauty

I was thinking some of these would look neat on a black back ground and then done over with that glowing edge filter you find in photoprocessing programs...

Thanks Ispom!

I have no problems reading your files. I've done mine using the quick graph facility in Mathcad 13. Hopefully you can read my files. My files sizes seem much bigger compared to yours.

its a pity Al, I can't open your files,

my version is not compatible upward

but if you are interested in receiving any files regarding a figure I've shon here, I will send you.

Yes, my files are mostly in the range below 100 kB, your higher version files are bigger than 1000 kB.

btw, the version mathcad 8 is now available free:

http://www.vollversion.de/download/mathcad_8_1751.html

but the newest (mathcad 14) cost 1100 Euro
how many USD?
i think so 1600 ?

Ispom it would be interesting to do Bessel functions of the first kind that mathematically plot diffraction patterns from circular apertures.

I find all your plots very interesting.
