Magic Night

It is super clear here now. I observed PN with my 12" Dob before I went to bed early, then got up again after midnight and observed with 20x80s. The LMC, SMC, M31 and M45 are fantastic in 20x80s.
NGC 7552 was easy in the 20x80s and NGC 7590 was just visible.

I was out for few hours last night, very nice it was too. was having a nice
play with your OIII filter : ) I can see twice as much Veil with it than my
UHC filter. Mainly looking at nebula and carbon stars, along with the 20x80's
the SMC. I going to build a parrallagram mount for them shortly.

The weather looks good for this weekend, you are welcome to come here Fri and/or Sat night. I looked at galaxies with the 12" for 3 hours this morning.

My car goes away today to finally get the head gasket fixed. Hopefully it
will done by Friday. So pencil me in as tentative at this stage. If not I'll be
there in spirit, I'll be that dark patch of sky to the south lol

Hi guys, just checking in about this weekend.

As Graham has indicated, he kindly called me last night, and we tentatively discussed coming to Glen's tonight. It has been blowing quite a gale here in Byron today. We retreated from the beach at 11am: just too unpleasant to put up with all that sand blasting. I will call Graham a little later on when the weather situation is a bit clearer. I am good for tomorrow night instead if that is going to be better.

True to my promise, I had better go and get some decent port to bring along....
