it's Narayan, John.

Can we leave it as tentative at the moment but maybe I can confirm closer to Saturday?
I'd really like to come along if possible

Hi Seeker,

Sure you can go down as a tentative.

I will PM you with my phone number and you can call on the day if your coming. Depending on the area we observe from it may be an advantage to know roughly who's coming so we can allow appropriate space in setting up on the observing field.

I have looked at the observing challenge for this month and i recon that we can easily observe them this weekend. It will be fun to show you these interesting objects. Anyone have any other objects that they would like????
I do have a programme to follow but it will not take alnight so if you have anything interesting please let me know on here or bring a list.
See you all on Saturday.

Guys, I am devastated to say that I can't be there on Saturday (prior commitment to someone's 40th), but I might still come up on Friday night (on my lonesome ) because the thought of those dark skies are getting my juices flowing.... Anthony, is it OK if I come on Friday to use the site?

I am a definite for the following weekend (11th). Mike is coming then too.

Hope you guys have a great time on Sat night!

so how does one find this place if they want to go?
I have a bus load of Italian schoolgirls to drop of in Newcastle around 3pm or so. If its not too far and not too hard to find I might bring my 8"Dob and let a few of you ppl in the know have a butchers at it and tell me the bad and good news : )

Cahullian, maybe you should drop that load of Italian school girls to the observing site....

I will resist the temptation to start talking about who has the most inches.....

sorry guy's i can't make it, have a prior date at which to indulge my 2 other hobbies pyrotechnical facination and fire fighting.

I only hope the voodoo on our local school fire works display doesn't affect kulnura. (it either rains, clouds out or blows a westerly gale). The long weekend is also out due to other commitments.

I will try and keep the new moon weekend in July free.

It would be more than my jobs worth leaving a bunch of innocent school girls in the hands of blokes with stars in their eyes.

Just kidding truth be known I wouldn't trust the school girls.

Guys, I need urgent advice! This arvo I casually sauntered into SuperCheap Autos looking for (and fully expecting to find) a 12V hair dryer!

No such luck

Where can I pick one up on a Saturday morning?

Also... Louie, my old mate... ol' buddy, ol' pal... will you be bringing along your 27 Pan? Striker's got one for sale and I'd like to do another comparison with my Meade QX 26 before I take the plunge!

I couldn't get a hair dryer but I did get a beanie and the bickies! And I'm about to key Kulnura's lat/long into Autostar so the little blue guy knows where he's pointing this time! hehehe

Wayne PM me and I will lend you mine for tomorrow night, no not the 12" SCT but the 12 volt hair dryer. And if you are really nice to me I will also lend you my GPS mate, all you have to do is plug in in and hit the button, it will read the gps coords to the meade and thats it , position, height, and millisecond accuracy.

Allas I cannot go but I am looking forward for next weekend. And knowing the typical long weekend june weather it will be very clear and sunny

Wayne,

I bought 1 from Bias Boating at Tuggerah for about $20. I am sure there is a Bias Boating in Newcastle.

Tricky Doubles for Saturday!

I've just drawn myself up a list of 'tricky' doubles to put us to the test on Saturday night. The separations could be way out because my data source is ancient. But I thought you guys might like a copy, it's a zipped Excel file attached!
