Well the guy who said he would give me 2 mtrs of 250 mm pvc pipe came thru ... so I am going to put in three more piers for the EQ5 MOUNT now that my assistant knows the ropes it should go real fast...plus I went to the tip and found some really good steel to do a proper job on the double drum set up...made huge mistake last night..I forgot to relocate the cable hook as I was concentrating on the jury rid set up with the winch that I am working on..the motor seemed to die so I thought flat battery..just a little more ..ever inch counted on opening..I did not realise the roof could not go further and .then the loudest bang I have ever heard comparable to a shotgun blast..terrifying I had no idea if I was being assasinated...it was the pulley disintegrating ...and fortunately no shrapnel hit me or any of the scopes...but the cable buried in the rest of the cable and was stuck fast..it took me ages with a screw driver and hammer to free it...anyways after I got it open enough to have a go at NGC 300...And went thru until 4 am ...ALL GOOD

NOT good for a blokes heart rate! And no incidental damage, you're sure proving the point about your luck

Further news on the current wheels..after the wd 40 applied to prepare the axle bolts for removal I find the roof rolls rather well..it keeps rollingbafter I stop the winch motor...now they are difficult to lubricate but I have tried to get oil in there but given the rolling performance not being flash it must not have got to where it was needed..the WD 40 on the other hand must have..the other irony is the wheels on the roof may just be the same as the new ones that I am buying

Anyways time will tell.

Arduino supposed to arrive today but I still have not got around to ordering relays...been up two night in a row and no ill effects...yet.

How about a bit of both: Spray grease. Almost any kind (lithium, bike chain, etc but preferably not silicone spray - too thin), with an applicator straw so you can point it right in there.
WD is basically kero and tends to evaporate too quickly.

When I replace the wheels I will drill a hole to never have a problem with lubrication..I have some spray Grease that is great..
