Summerland Viewing Night

I suggest we organise our astronomy viewing nights under the above heading. We can have these at different places near new moon.
The next one will be at Robs on 20/10 I think???
What do you think?

Yes a great night and Glen found some things that I had looked for thru the 12 inch but never found moved on and forgot it. I was very happy to see the Saturn Neb as this object is one that I have seriously looked for and never seen. There were others but that is memorable for me.
I followed the world champ poker and went out again ,mustta been 2am on wards but it was clearer than earlier and with the Milky way gone so much darker guving better contrast.
It was the first time I had experienced the benefit of a contrast filter and very impressed.
It was a great buzz for me because as I said to Glen apart from one neighbiur and the JW's years ago he has been my only "real" visitor and the first time I have been in the company of an astronomer (other than in a shop)

Congratulations to mum and dad.
I thought it might be twins.
Does that double the population of Coombell?

Yes Hayden was born 09:00am this morning at Grafton Base Hosp'
weighing in at 8.10lb and 52cm tall

Alex, I'm with you. I've been in this hobby only about 5yrs. But
have only got together with other folk 4 x and 2 of them were
astrofest QLD. You'll have to try and make it up there next year
it alot of fun and a heap of scope and folks to meet.

I think Glen's idea is a good one! we should try and organise some
get togethers. Maybe rotate around the place, I think it would be
good. I'm cool for my place next month whatever date suits, a
week either side of new moon. Glen when are you heading down
south? what date would you prefer? if any

regards,CS sunny days
