What is the issue with you and colour anyway ...perhaps you could become John Gleasons B&W assistant

Excellent Mike, the detail and colour balance is expertly processed. Dunno about the monster diffraction spikes, but they are fine, considering

Cheers Bass nut, I like the way the arm on the left is curling up and back over the galaxy core, it's what caught my eye and lead to me imaging it. As for the diffraction spikes ...them's par for the course with a reflector

I have to say I do really like B&W images. I give John G a hard time about his incessant Ha imaging (just cause it's fun ) but look at the quality of his work it's the best Ha going, so why not specialise in deep Luminance..? I for one would love it and you may start to counter the general feeling that an image isn't complete without colour...after all just a generation or so ago B&W images were more than acceptable...I remember!

I keep thinking about going the OSC path to get colour ... but then I turn away at the last minute due to the low sensitivity Happens every few months, I add one to my cart then close the browser

Deep luminance is good ... but I do like colour Wish I had space in my filter wheel for a Ha.

Hi Mike,
talking of colour - I've changed my mind about your pic.
I think the galaxy is slightly too blue after looking at the Hubble closeup pic.

cheers

Fair enough ... but you didn't mention the colour
