Thank you Paul, Marc, Rick, Andrew, Kevin & Stephen, I appreciate your nice words.

At our local "totality” (80%), it was quite eerie as the temperature had definitely been slowly but noticeably dropping and the shore based birds became more active and flew away, in a flock, perhaps to their roost, although this part of the river mouth is tidal and the tide may simply have pushed them off the mudflats.

The light was quite strange, not really twilight in nature, more of a spooky and surreal quality to it. I guess the full total eclipse chasers felt this even more so.
