My tip is to seriously consider what you really need to take and what your objectives are. As a seasoned traveller I know there is nothing worse than being bogged down by superfluous stuff. Be brutal, be honest and trim your baggage back to the bare bones.

This was what he took to Astrofest last year. Not counting what ever was in the dorm.

I find that leaving my wife at home usually cuts the travel weight greatly.

Seriously, carry-on as much as you can get to fit in the overhead bins...

That's his trademark allright, travelling to Nyngan with his garage contents was great fun ...even a couple of hours day visit to IISAC brought out 1/2 the garage

Just checked my records. It cost me an extra 40 bucks for 23kg on top of 66kg already allocated. Qantas, Melbourne -> Perth. Much cheaper than paying at the airport.

deoends on your meaning - if you ask "have you got a spare USBhub, usb cables, camera, diagonal, scope, guider camera, tripod, etc then yeah i probably have it though i am a little low on power supplies (i have lost 4 now at astrofest in 3 years).

no dont consider myself High Maitenance
