An extraordinary man who lived an extraordinary life....
An entire planet who stopped to watch him create the most important point in human history, will mark his passing

A sad day indeed. He, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were heroes to a generation. The world won't ever feel quite the same. RIP.

Few of humanity will ever get the chance to leave such a legacy.
Let's hope we get another chance to build on his work.

These words of McGee seem appropriate...

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Ho'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through the footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

RIP Neil.

One of the primary reasons I am into astronomy was watching the Apollo program and landings. All brave men. A brave man and well remembered throughout history.
