Paul & Scott, I guess you both mean these chairs, as sold by Bintel? So why the hush-hush?

Welcome Obga! Where is a good place to buy a Dob in Hungary? I'll be going there later this year and I'm thinking of grabbing a scope (most likely a 10" Dob) and doing some Northern hemisphere observing under the dark skies of Transylvania (Erdély). Lack of progress does have its advantages.

I recommend you this page : http://www.tavcso.com
This is the best place in Hungary to buy a new telescope.

Thanks, Obga. Ouch! Pricey! GS Dobs are nearly double what they cost here. Yes, my login name is that of a Hungarian painter I used to know.

Congrats from me, too, mate!
I just hope you are able to see stars at nite where you are - I just got a 10" dob last saturday (drove down to Melbourne from up near Echuca to get it) and since then we have not had one even semi-clear nite of skies here...and that's after weeks & weeks & weeks & weeks of beautiful night skies! Talk about frustration!!

Thats the way it goes Shaneaust.
Every time someone buys some new gear it clouds over for the next week or two.
Happens all the time!!!

Yes, pricey.
But there is no other way in Hungary to buy a good quality telescope.

You will travel directly to Erdély or spend some day in Hungary?

Yessss! Yesterday my GSO has arrived! It's bigger and heavier than I think.
Because of near full moon (and I was very tired) , I looked only the Jupiter and Saturn. The view was good enough.
More info and pictures later...

Yes, they are big beasts. You should get some great views of Jupiter when seeing allows.

I'll be going to Budapest also ... and Bulgaria. Hopefully I can grab a Dob in Budapest and then take it for a tour of Eastern Europe.
