please no ...
So you have seen it ?
a little info , like is it any good ?? is aloud ... .
I see this movie being one you have to see many times to catch all its meanings and messages , typical Ridley Scott .
I confess to not liking blade runner the first time I seen it at the movies , (yea I know , silly me ) but many years later and owning a DVD copy and watched it lots more its a reall , really , good ,, deep , movie , he knows how to do that well , does old Ridley .
Brian.

Can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD. But then it looks like it might be worth the 2 hour drive each way to the cinema.

It started off as a sequel to the Alien series, but apparently then went somewhere completely different. With Ridley there are more hits than misses, I hope this one is no different.

Looking forward to this one.
Not sure i'll be able to drag my wife along though as she isn't into Sci-Fi. My nieces think i'm 'tragic' when i go to see movies on my own.

I often prefer to go on my own, esp at morning sessions, you havent got friends chatting in your ear while you are enjoying the movie.

Yes, not long now, and look forward to it.

I only go by myself these days too, funnily-enough. I don't mind though - I'm seeing Prometheus from a nice comfy leather recliner, with a tall cold beer and selection of tapas on the table next to me - all courtesy of a Gold Pass cinema. Luvverly

Booked for 9:30 Thursday evening...

Hmmm. Ridley Scott has directed thirty or so films, and of those I've liked only two or three. That's why I'll be sitting back and awaiting the reviews before coughing up the moola to see this one!

Reviews, shmeviews. Looks like a fun movie, and spectacular no matter what. I'll leave reviews to those who wait to see only the perfect movie.

I'm with you Chris, forget the reviews. I never take any notice of reviews anyway. When I go to the flicks I leave my brain at the door and just go along for the ride.

I have seen many movies with poor reviews that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Well I've liked only two or three of his thirty-odd films, so the odds aren't great. If a lot of unhappy people are leaving the theatres where it's playing I'll give it a miss, but I will watch it if everyone raves.

Who cares what anyone else thinks? If I had listened to others, I would have missed a lot of movies I actually enjoyed, when others thought they weren't good. Conversely, films others have raved about I thought weren't as good as everyone said. Classic example, everyone raved about Australia, which I thought was a big joke!

I go to a movie with low expectations, so I am never dissapointed and often surprised. I go to be entertained! The only time I thought was a total waste of two hours was for Australia, Eagle Eye and Shrek 3! So that isn't bad over the paste ten years.

Hi BPO (do you have a name?)

The problem, that sticks out for me, in relying on critics reports to make my own mind up from is that I believe there is a terrible bias amongst them against sci-fi as a genre. I think that you actually need to like sci-fi before you become qualified to judge it. Most professional critics, I think, don't.

Saw Prometheus today in 3D. If you are an "Alien" fan, it will answer a couple of questions, but it did raise another question, for me.

Was it worth seeing? Definite yes, for me anyway. Was it a "great" movie, well....not really However, it was a good movie and well done, for the most part, but I definitely wouldn't rave about it.

I quite enjoyed it though and it had some really stunning visuals, but then we expect no less, since Avatar raised the bar in this regard.

A few small things wrong with it, but I won't give anything away, as I am probably just being anal. I have no doubt these these will be discussed at a later date.

So, how many "stars" out of ten.... I give it a 7/10.

Definitely worth seeing in 3D.

Cheers Peter

If your brain is off, you will really enjoy it. As I said, definitely worth seeing, but then, I didn't listen to all the hype anyway!

Enjoy Chris
