Hi Patrick
Good to hear that you have booked in! We are crossing fingers and toes for another great BSG. We were so pleased to have such a great run of clear skies last year.
Reports are circulating of a dry August - but who knows!!
Cheers Petra d.

Finally the guest info kit is available. Don't forget that meals will be available throughout the event courtesy of Catering Outback (Brownie and crew).

Looks like it's going to be a fantastic camp again! Sadly, I won't be able to make it. Was hoping that an opportunity would present itself as the time grew closer but alas I'll be up in Canberra. Good luck with everything, look forward to hearing all your reports.

Hi Rob
Sad that you can't make it this year and thanks for the well wishes. We are looking forward to our inaugural science fair on Saturday 11th August which will be open to the general public.
Cheers
Dave
Hopefully you will be in the right place in 2013!

Weather
How is the weather looking for the weekend? I have my fingers and toes crossed for clear night skies.
See everyone Friday afternoon.

Forecast is looking good for Saturday night at least. Is there no emoticon for crossed fingers?

Hi all
The actual weather that we have had over the last few days has been a total contradiction to what has been reported - so Im totally confused as to what we will get.
Safe journeys to all - see you there.

Yep, I'm just ignoring the forecasts. Whatever the weather is, I plan to relax and enjoy myself.

Just got back from this years BSG...
Firstly I have give a big thank you to David and Petra for doing an excellect job in keeping everything going despite the weather being a bit wet..(although it did clear up enough on Saturday night for a chance to peek at the Galactic Centre for a few hours.)
The good folk at the Wymah resort for making our stay welcoming and comfortable
Also to Brownie and his family for putting on a great spread as always..the vendors for making my wallet lighter..the members of ASAW who worked hard to keep everyone amused and not forgetting the special guests for sharing their experiences...Oh!...and to Miles Allen for giving all of us the best medicine!..Bless you all and see you next year!
Cheers!

Ditto - just got home after another great BSG. Thanks to Dave & Petra and all the ASAW crew. Also to the wonderful presenters - one of the great bonuses of BSG! Great to catch up with old friends and enjoy some observing on Saturday night, which ended up being very clear. I was a bit stunned at how sparsely populated the observing field was. Great to share some stunning views through the mighty Nix. Thanks Alex.

We are back in Melbourne as well.
Another great Border Stargaze! The weather tried to do the usual trick but enough toasts were said to clear skies for the Saturday night and in good faith I set up the dob while it was raining (the first for me). Around 8pm the wind dropped and it became 100% clear. We had a cracker observing session. The highlights of the night were M31, Galactic parade in Grus and Fornax and double shadow transit on Jupiter to finish the night at 5am in the morning. 6.30am it was raining again...
I can't thank ASAW enough for all the efforts in making a great star party year after year. We had great time and kids enjoyed it too!
Cheers,
Alex

To all of the long time friends that we make each year!
Hi All
As always I am both impressed and humbled by the incredible support and well wishes we receive from our guests. All the way through you kept in high spirits and thanks to Andersons Wines some of you even higher despite the occasional showers (ok downpours).
This year like many others we (ASAW) are supported by the generosity of the guests who not only come to the event but pitch in at key moments to help us in setting up and cleaning up. This is the true reflection of how we have all grown to become not only colleagues and acquaintances but good friends.
Thank you all once again for making each Border Stargaze a memory to be treasured and I and everyone from ASAW look forward to hosting you in the future.
Kind Regards
Dave C
