Another impressive Mars with amazing detail, nice to see thew changes as Mars gets bigger over the weeks.

Sorry Peter (Helo) forgot all about that single frame, didn't I. Here it is. It's not from this lot of images however.

This is with the YUY2 + unspecified codec hence it's a colour image. It's also one of the good frames out of the AVI. There's plenty of nasty ones too.

Fuzzy Mars

Thanks for the image Asi and for the manual. I have a much better idea on the settings but not getting frames anything like as clear as yours. I get a lot of shimmering which i am thinking may be heat haze coming from the roof of ours and the neighbours house, does this sound reasonable? It looks like cloud going across and can't get a good focus (definitely no cloud though). I think I will have to do a late night in a week and see if that makes a difference.

Hi Peter. Shooting over roofs can certainly have an effect yes. To find out, I'd be doing a series of tests early AM like you have already assumed. Could be just seeing though. I'm shooting over our house 11PM onwards (Mars) as well.
