Wayne has only just started offering these coatings to the general public, and as Mark indicated in his post, he hasn't actually seen one applied to any of his optics yet. However, this does not make it a new and untested product. The long history of use (with CSIRO) could more easily be discussed with Wayne himself.

Wayne did mention that he is planning on coating once he gets few more mirrors in stock to do all in one go, so if anyone wants their mirrors coated now would be a good time to send across to him.

i actually dont give a rats one way or 'tother!
pat
If you reread the earlier posts its obvious that I am the mirror maker, and no I am not offering the coating on the basis of any experience other than that it has proved very durable in the field with a professional instrument in a harsh enviroment . if you 'don't give a rats ' why pass judgment on anyone's professionalism . Peace...

Sorry about that Jason. Not even a redirection on that number.

So Mark do you have his number in Taree?
No listing in the White Pages.

Thanx for the number Mark
I've spoken to Wayne today and he has quoted me $300 to Recoat my 12" gso primary in a special silver protected coating. He said it will give me 99% reflectivity. I'm pretty happy with this and will be sending it off next week. As soon as I get it back I'll post some pics and comments.

Btw Wayne has some pretty impressive credentials.

Thanks guys

Just an update for the archives...

After quite a few failures of his silver coatings Saintly stopped offering this option in late 2012.
Not sure what the current situation is.
