Well, on a lighter note, I didn't think much to his table manners - lol

And did anyone notice how he was fanning himself and wiping away perspiration in that briefing room, when everyone else seemed fine. Is that a thing with body builders? - perspiring easily, like it was a real effort for him to just sit down quietly and listen.

Just my observations

Muscle and metabolism (he is always eating) create heat, add a BP vest and the fact that he weighs 300lbs and I guess that's what it is. I think it was summer in southern USA too, hence the shorts comment?

Hmm... OK Mike I take your point, as one who'd know what they're talking about in this field.

Jeepers, wouldn't you get totally sick of the sight of chicken by about midday on day 1 of the campaign though.

Anyway, I would love to see that officer bust up some white supremacists

Paul asked, anyone notice how he was fanning himself and wiping away perspiration in that briefing room, when everyone else seemed fine. Is that a thing with body builders? - perspiring easily,

Its a side effect of steroid use but it may be due to an underlying problem.

When I worked the weights many years ago, I had no problem with perspiration if I was relaxed. Once I did any kind of physical activity I perspired heavily, and for a short time after stopping the activity. Once my core temperature cooled the perspiring stopped.
As Mike mentions, with strong muscles the work output is very high. The energy output contributes to a lot of excessive heat.

Without drugs body-building produces a great feeling of well-being.
I saw a few that were obviously on something. There were subtle changes. Oily skin, acne and a sense of stress. I can't explain it exactly. But I could see there was something not right.

I never used drugs. I liked the benefits naturally. It had a calming effect on my nature and I felt good. Such is body-building.

Cheers

You are correct about the steroids and growth hormone etc but in good shape and aerobically fit (more muscular and less fat than now ) I had a very similar problem - 100% drug free. I sweated a lot, even on mild exertion, or after eating or even a cup of coffee, during a workout I sweated profusely, sitting in a less than airconditioned room and I had beads of sweat running down my neck and it was embarrassing at times, particlularly if I was giving a presentation on fitness!..I mean it's not a good look to have the fitness lecturer sweating while they are doing essentially nothing I did plenty of cardio training too because strongman had plenty of movement and running in it.

There is certainly a genetic factor here too, the sypathetic nervous system plays a part too and can be over sensitive as well.

I am now, soft and way out of shape but I still sweat

I agree about the feeling working out gives, Arnold described it as being like cuming ....I should get back in there....

My youngest son used to be a bouncer and was built like the proverbial brick dunny, had muscles in his crap to be honest, anyway I questioned him about drugs and he admitted to taking the 'roids" as he called them. He now has heart problems directly linked to taking them. Ya dont get something for nothing that is for sure.

Yep, that's how it often works out. I thought hard about using the gear but could never justify the ends or reconcile the cheating aspect and I was in a sport rife with steroids. In the end I can rest easy that I rose to a high level in the sport without them and even managed a World Record so I can sleep easy

Hi Michael,

I sweated a lot, even on mild exertion, or after eating or even a cup of coffee, during a workout I sweated profusely,

I had and still have the exact problem.
I lived in Townsville in the late 70's. The Army provided info on aclimatisation. I came from Adelaide. I was into vigorous sports.
Hardly raised a sweat, until I hit Townsville. The info mentioned that newbies in sub tropical took a month or three before the body familiarised to the heat. The ability to perspire improved greatly.
Particularly in the gym.
It is a natural thing.

Crongrats on your record.
In Townsville I trained with the ex Sottish Weight lifting Champion. I nicknamed him Scott
His story:
Out with the girlfriend and set upon by three louts all over 6'. They came off second best to a guy who is 5' 9".
The mongrels then proceeded with an assult charge on Scott. The court ruled in favour of Scott.

The judge fined the louts.
Scott waited outside the court and then beat them up again as they exited the court house. The police walked away. Did not want to know about it.
That was the end of it.
Scott was such an easy going man. He was never aggresive and he knew what he was capable of. He taught those louts a lesson.
Scott was like a great many members of the gym world. Quietly confident. 'roid users excepted. They have problems.
My nickname in the Army was Marty Schwarzenegger.. I agree with Arnold's statement. It does give you a lift but not to the extremes that he said.

Cheers

Top stuff Mike, I doff my hat to you mate for doing it the correct way. Even better achieving what you did naturally. Something to be extremely proud of. Real achievements dont come easy that is why so many of them cheat I reckon, unfortunately a sign of the times.
