There's a bit of image quality loss in the Giff construction but the general idea is still pretty clear

(you already know we think you're an imaging God of the current age )
And it is against the exposure law to depict me in either picture or print

Nice comparison Mike, appreciate it. Brings back memories, back in the 1980's I was using hypered Konica 1600 and 3200 ISO film, with enlarger, anyliser, print processing drums, motorised rollers and chemicals that had to be kept at a pre-determined temperature.

Gee, we get it easy now don't we?

If I knew how to scan my old photos I could up load them also.

All the best.

Hi Mike
A very interesting comparison and it certainly shows how technology has helped advanced the quality of images over the years
Best wishes

That really is amazing.
I never would have believed it possible when I bought my C8 about 21 years ago that such imagery would be possible.
I certainly never would have believed that my venerable C8 could capture an image like this with just six 20 second exposures.

http://www.hyperstarimaging.com/gall....php?photo=174

I would have said it was categorically impossible to get that level of colour and detail with just 2 minutes of data in average seeing with an 8" scope.

Nowhere near as nice as your image, but shows how far the tech has come.

That is an amazing comparison Mike, and what an awesome gif Bert, really puts the differences into perspective! I still have a soft spot for the 1984 version, it has a lot of personality. They are both beautiful, well done
