What I find ironic is how the sales figures do not reflect the winners in the ABC catagories. It also reflects in ABC that some of the catagorey winners are not main stream vehicles and therefore should not be included.
I think there is a time lag, it takes a while for people to start buying the best cars. And some people never hear about them.
Hey I remember my old mans prefect back in the 60's
Wow what a car , If I remember right it hated hills was really ,really ,slow and used to crunch in all gears, I remember that as the noise used to scare the bejusus out of me .
But to be honest we saw quite a bit of a few towns between brisbane
and yamba thanks to the old prefect, due to it breaking down and having to wait till the garage opened again on monday.
Now you are talking ,
1971 R/T E37 Chrysler Valiant Charger ( with y2k tech, eg 5 speed supra, wild wood brakes ,etc , etc. )
and
2002 BA XR6 Turbo Falcon.( stage 3 flash , valve springs , injectors ,, etc, etc,)
Hey wait a miniute ? Hey!
I own BOTH !
Woaw !
He He He .
For transporting my scopes to a dark site ?
Brian.

Sounds like my dad's green Austin A40 wagon. We had to unload it once because it would not go up a hill.
Love my VZ ute.
The back is large enough to hold the Meade Lx200GPS 12" in its Alu case, tripod, extra cases for equipment, camping gear etc, etc,
doubles for a bed when scopes set up, so no need for a tent
I didn't think they were. I believe the Focus is a Euro designed, built in South Africa job, whereas the Mazda 3 is a Japanese designed and built unit. The quality difference is evident.
Regardless of where the Focus has ended up, its reliability is still questionable.

You should check your Vfacts, they tell the real story, I believe.
I'm surprised to see the Holden Cruze up there, I haven't seen many on the roads at all.
I do like my i30 though
The Cruze is selling well and is a very strong product. Cost, driveability, fit and finish, comfort etc are all world class. There are alot of them out there. I think they outsold Corolla last month and are catching Mazda quite rapidly.
My favourite car was an Austin A30 (also the fastest through Galston Gorge) Brocky knew what an A30 could do.
My most powerful was a 1971 HG holden (did Toowomba to Narrabri at an average speed of 95.7MPH)
Best car in a corner was a 1985 Camira wagon (3 wheels no bother)
Longest lasting car 1989 Camry wagon (I still have it)
My all time favourite but I never owned one 1955 Chev Belair
I now buy cars on economics basis.
I am quite happy with my Ford Fiesta
Barry
PS I like riding in Elva's son's Roller . Particularly when passing people in cars that I know.

It all depends where you live. I am working in Whyalla at present and there are heaps of Cruzes on the road. The local dealer must be reaaly pushing them.
I have noticed that the "car park" here in Whyalla S.A. is very different to my home at Bowral NSW. Lots of Holdens & Fords here in Whyalla, most of them with "upgrades" (bling) Back home there are lots of European cars, Peugots, Skodas, VWs etc as well as heaps of Hondas, Toyotas. Not uncommon to see Astons, Bentleys and Ferraris back home. Never seen any in Whyalla.
Not sure where this post is going.... but I candidly admit I am no fan of home grown cars....as they are corporate token vehicles IMHO...
I suspect a "real" Aussie car might be something truly unique, but the reality is a mis-mash of Detroit and Toyota (! it's also a city!) hand-me-downs.
But, I am totally irrational when it comes to cars...or perhaps more Yin-Yang...not sure which...
I have a very relaible German daily drive...and totally tempestuous Italian job ...
If they were Chef's, I'd tell Fritz: a salad today would be fine.
..and meanwhile ask Sophia to make something spicy...
OH look who's on top and who's on the bottom HE HE HE HO HO HO
Ford killed off the Falcon wagon and effectively replaced it with the Territory, I guess those that want a wagon have to look elsewhere, or purchased a territory instead, so that would be part of the reason for the low falcon sales.

great if you're after a used car though... got my 1999 falcon wagon for $1500...... then nearly 2 grand to get the roadworthy and iron out all the bugs.... then another 1300 for the lpg conversion. Still, a not too old and reliable car that can fit a 12" and an 8" plus mounts and eyepiece cases and all that for under $5000.. can't complain! I'll probably drive it until it dies lol
I see you have an agenda here, and that seems to be to push ABC as best as you can. On the panel or have a vested interest in a VW dealership?
Well, I'll let you go, 'cause I can tell you that most average people are not going to by VW when they find out the cost of servicing and the poor Australia wide dealer support network. They certainly aren't the sort of vehicle to own out of warranty.
