I am surrounded by vineyards so it has to be a Mudgee Red for me. My favourite is Rosby wines, www.rosby.com.au , can only get it direct from them, but it is well worth it, far too easy to drink!
They have a nice dark sky out there too!

cognac is made from a very rough grape variety called "ugni blanc" i think, good to still but bad table wine
i am always subconsciously drinking to the type of weather for me, for instance very rarely can i stomach a 15% cab or shiraz in summer poured at room temp (30C)
on the other hand an SSB in the depths of winter is almost intolerable

I love my bourbons and ciders and Pleasant Valley Sparkling Wine. Tastes sweet as and only like 5 bucks per bottle and is always on special in some shape or form at Liquorland. Some alcohols I wont drink... Campari, that is absolutely disgusting beyond all human comprehension.

No one has mentioned the wonderful elixer from the south of France, Pastis. Nothing is more refreshing that a Pastis, one part Pastis to 5 parts icy cold water.
I am a shameless Shiraz drinker with red meat. With white meat/fish, I am partial to a NZ Sauvignon.
I am not a big beer drinker, but if very thirsty, I am drawn to darker beers - Tooheys Old is a favourite - lovely and yeasty. Also fond of Beez Neez with BBQ'ed white meat/fish.
Cheers!

Now the warmer weather is upon us, I've put the Cab/Sav back in the cellar (not), and stocked the fridge with sparkling pink Moscato. Delightfully refreshing especially in a long stem crystal champers glass, after golf or can be slurped after mowing (directly from the bottle if necessary!). Port or Cowboys around the campfire with coffee chasers..............heaven, I'm in heaven and I ....blah, blah, blah, hum mmm, ..................... he he

Me, none.
Never understood the alcohol culture like it's some fantastic thing that everyone must have to the point where they worship it by proudly displaying what they drink. To me alcohol all tastes like crap and I never sucummed to peer pressure and the "you'll get use to the taste" line my mates use to push. I'm sure you could get use to the taste of muddy water but it doesn't I'm going to want to keep drinking it!
Rather save my money and put it towards more rewarding pursuits.
