David I meant the buyer would be disappointed with the scope as a tool for observing, not really about the neighbors.
I think if you were using this scope to perv on the neighbors, you in yourself would be a disappointment

I agree Leon. It is sad to think someone will buy it because of the blurb.

Another lost astronomer or is that astrologer.

Now that's a 'lesson' on how to sell your scope. Great read!!!???

That's a classic, good to see that the little old lady's house down the street was saved.

Heck!
I DO spy on the neighbours!
Well.
Not so much spy as 'check-out' now and then.
Most own guns and all drink, so it pays to be on top of things.

That's probably necessary at times, but your not checking which one drops their dacks first, are you.

Yes,that's for sure.Be the first time there has been a link to such a scope of this calibre on IIS,We have all gone to read and have a good laugh,as many other people have-but without the interesting text, would have as many people looked??-The seller might not be as stupid as we think-clever marketing, and what a chuckle!!!

Thanks you Chris - yes, precisely. You've got to find his campaign story as nothing more than a bit of good old-fashioned fun. The guy's having a laugh with the rest of us as he types - you can picture it. Of course the scope is junk - he knows it, and he knows that you know it.

Besides - the bid is up to $60 now...

It all gets down to my first post.
A good marketing ploy to sell a bit of junk.

A little bit off topic but the first telescope I made when at school 60 years ago was about that size and after I looked at jupiters moons I never used it for astronomy again. It was great for looking at the "sights" around the neighbour hood during the rest of its life.
