sure does ving. Probably one of the bluest objects you'll see in the night sky, especially on a night of good seeing.

Hi Ving,
I see no Blue through the EP in my 8". Under a dark sky and larger aperture who knows.! Give it a go!

Now that's strange. Through my 8 " I do see good colour an a good night and through the C11 its almost iridescent, which is why its my fav planetary. Go figure

Maybe I just didn't look hard enough..!!
Admitidly I was not very dark adapted and was in a heavily light polluted area when I tried...

I have to wait until its quite high near the meridian. It doesn't like being looked at through all that thick atmosphere.

After seeing this thread 3918 was one of our targets observing last night.

Viewed through a 10 inch dob and a 14 inch lx200 it was just a blue ball. Through the 18 incher at power we could just barely detect the faint 'wings' as shown on the hubble picture.

OK...I will keep it simple so you all can understand.....I started out with a Black background and added the Planetry and stars with my Adobe PhotoDeluxe.......took me about 5 mins....hehe

"Yes its all Fake"

But I am happy with it.......lol

We need more images in the Deep Space section.. It's looking a little bland with everyone focussing (& rightly so) on planets at the moment.
