Jackaroo is the name of a 4WD vehicle here in Aust. The name jackaroo is a person who hunts the dangerous Drop bears in coastal Australia.

Brian, although the name of a Holden 4x4, "jackaroo" primarily is the name given to Australian "cowboys". They work on stations (ranches) in the outback. I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Mario

Help it does. I'm jut glad over here I the Philippines we don't even have gummy bears let alone drop bears.

Used to know a fellow who helped pay the bills by guiding in Northern British Columbia Canada. He had a story or two to tell about hunting Grizzlies. But they seem to pale next to the dreaded drop-bear.

In this case a Jackaroo is a 4wd vehicle made by General Motors, in some countries it is sold as an Isuzu Trooper.

Adrian

Looks like this.

I've heard that in Japan they are/were called a Bighorn. Don't know about Canada but you'd never use that name in Oz.

Start walking to the shops.
Let's see... if you leave at sunrise you should be home by sunset.
Just don't get any cold stuff.
I feel a clip over the ear coming my way..

On a serious note..
I'm so sorry to hear what's happened with your beloved and trusty car and I hope & pray it will get sorted out very soon Mr Ron.

Suzy, don't you think I have done enough walking for a little while
I would need a very long arm or some form of transport to get to you to give you a clip over the ear
Thanks for the best wishes

Oh what a feeling

I picked up my car a couple of days ago fitted with a second hand Rodeo motor with130.000kms on the clock.
All up cost $4.332.75 it has taken most of that time to find the motor and raise the cash
Breakdown of costs,
Motor $2750.00
Labour $1150.00
Spark plugs $ 141.00
Timing belt
and other stuff $ 301.66

Total $4332.75

The most money I have ever paid out in car repairs in my life
This car has to last me looooong time now

Happy driving Ron, it sure must be a great feeling to get behind the wheel after a month, esp. as you are so isolated where you live. Now that Rodeo ad. song is stuck in my head. lalala..one ton Rodeo lalala
