Their first try was from a kick in behind the line and it was very disappointing to see the lack of desperation in the NSW defence. The only person that was desperate was JT and he ended up scoring the try. Queensland's second try was a gift. What was Morris thinking? He made the cardinal error of playing the man and not the ball by trying to block Yow Yeh from getting to the ball. Silly, silly mistake.
For a change both of NSW tries were from good short passes and getting a player into position. After having defended for so long and yet come home with a wet sail like they did and almost win shows that this NSW team is a great platform for the future.
Would I change the side for the next game? Only one - Dean Young was missing in action in the first 20 minutes and NSW really lifted when Ennis came on. I would replace Young with Robbie Farrah. Both Farrah and Ennis are quick from dummy-half and can make the quick darts that would have the big Queensland forwards in trouble. It would be relentless having those two continually running the ball.
Ken, I feel your pain about living in a non-Rugby League state. When I moved to Adelaide in the early 80's the only way I could get a decent fix of League was to play. And to think I made first grade on my speed and the fact that I actually knew the rules!! Ah, the brothers would be proud!!
Looking forward to the next game,
Mario
PS Warren, good to see that the last smiling face was a blue one!!
