I guess a lot of pronunciation becomes local to the area you grew up, the country you live in, where you are when you say it....

I pronounce Uranus as you-rarn-oos, mainly because it has less quips, than the more usual pronunciation.

But I always say that if you are in Australia, the capital of France is Paris, but the "propper pronunciation" is really par-ree with a rolling of the r's in the middle...however, now I am older, I can't roll my r's like I used to

I say Yoo-r'ness

but the ness isn't pronounced as in 'mess' but as in 'goodness'
