Thanks Keith, although a large object it is a hard one to tease a great deal of the finer intricacies out of..... especially when the nights arrn't perfect ... as we would like all the time.

Yes the OAG has been weighing on my mind heavily for a while.. I guess I could still use my faithfull old HX516 to carry on guide duty till I can afford a lodestar... mmmm

Thanks guys for your comments

All the best
Rich

Not 100% confident with the Lodestar. Mine has a bright horizontal line that is an artifact. Its a pain as when I go to callibrate or use the auto select feature of CCDsoft in autoguiding it picks this horizontal line instead of the star.

Mark on this site also mentioned his had a line in it as well. Something wrong with the electronics I think.

Greg.

Hi Greg, that is interesting!
Have you got onto to Terry??
If not, I would do this, I know for a fact that he would not like to hear about it and would do his best to sort it.
Perhaps there is a faulty resistor some where or was a bad QC issue when sent out from the factory. But all the same, this is not good...
Get onto him mate! I know Terry would go out of his way to sort it, one way or the other!

Rich
