A real good book to have is "A Walk Through the Southern Sky" by Heifetz & Tirion. Good reading, easy instruction and excllent diagram to help you to learn about the nights sky, well worth the money.

Thanks for that. I will get a copy, it sounds like a very good book and a worthy starter book for the 3rd row in the bookcase

Well at least books are cheaper than telescopes so my disease is not as dangerous as Houghy's.
