Having played soccer for close to 20 years in Sydney, first grade Rugby League in Adelaide (yes they do play League there and it was a very tough comp back in '84!!!) and Golden Oldies Rugby Union in Brisbane I'd like to add my 2 cents worth to this thread...

Playing the game...
Soccer: As a winger it was always good when I scored.
Rugby League: As a winger it was always good when I scored.
Rugby Union: As a winger it was always good when I scored.

Watching the game...
Soccer: Can only watch games that I have an emotional attachment to, ie watching Australia. Anything else I struggle to keep the interest up for 90 minutes.
Rugby League: I'll watch anything I can. Despite what some people say it's not just about brute strength and there are many skills on display. A nicely timed pass, a beautiful dummy, a little flick pass. Exquisite!
Rugby Union: Nice to watch when the ball gets to the players with double digits on their backs. Unfortunately this rarely happens!

Cheers,
Mario

I can understand Euro-trash playing silly Soccer they have nothing except handball. But any Aussie playing soccer must sure been seen as a sissy and or a fifth Columnist. Either way very un-Australian activity. If you combine that with the fact we are no good at it then it really isn't something we should be doing

that was a fun clip. Alright so he stalled the game for a few minutes, but boy he made those chasing him look a bit ordinary hey!? He should get into the game or even rugby, properly. He might be quite good and earn a quid or three

yes i agree logan the aussie rules players are gettin a bit soft now, for gods sake you cant even knee a player in the face anymore!
what is the world coming to eh! gone are the "good ol days" when it was a "pleasure" to get a size 14 hobnail boot up the chuff and then laugh it off in the communal showers after the game with no teeth!
yeah their softer alright, thick as whale omelettes too!

Lol, if a 'mans sport' is watching wackers feigning injuries, & patting each other on the backside then go for it. I won't be

I can't be insulted on the internet, so there's not much point in bothering

Apologies
I agree that my original comment was narrow-minded. Allow me to elaborate – SOCCER SUX.

I must apoligise too. I used to play it, but there was none of the rubbish that goes on now. It's just the way it's evolved.

I still won't be watching the bunch of limp-wrists, much rather get stuck in & have a game with the kids.

Simon,

http://scratch.hqphotography.com.au/...face.shirt.JPG

Problem?

P.S. I had that shirt custom printed after I found a ridiculously high resolution PNG. I now troll people without them even knowing.
