Thanks David, metho would be the business compared to vinegar as repellent. Broom uh

So I need Tropical strength Aerogard, RID, Bushmans, metho, baby oil, detol, vinegar, lavender oil, car sickness tablets and a liberal spraying of listerine!

I reckon the little wretches will die within two metres of me! Unfortunately so will I and all other camp attendees?

OK, I'll come up with something - no excuses this time.

OK, for this camp, I've searched out the Bushman's products.

There is one cream that is 80% DEET by weight!!!! OMG, put that on and stand next to your eyepieces and I reckon they'll dissolve in the fumes!

I've bought the spray that is 20% DEET. I'll use that on clothing (up in the cabin area, of course, not on the field!) Then I'll use Tropical Strength Aerogard roll-on on exposed skin, down on the field. That's about 10% DEET. But be careful to keep it away from front of hands and around eyes - anywhere that might come into contact with eyepiece rubbers, keyboards, mobile phone, spectacles etc.

But I'll still bring a big bottle of Stingoes in case prevention doesn't prevent.

Best laid plans.......... we shall see.

So most of these are oily.

Are there any solutions that are not oily?

What about a ring around your site of the good ol mozzie coils???

Long pants help.
Especially tracky dacks with the elastic around the bottom of the legs.

Shorts and midges do not go well together

Try rubbing on a combination of Vicks Vapour Rub and sorbolene. If it doesn't keep the miggies away it will at least fix a runny nose.
