Wondering if the mount has been made to lat 34° 50'S ?
More than likely.
Cheers Kev.

Steve,
As Mick has confirmed the scope's optics is obviously not functioning, so why has he stated "The high quality objective lenses deliver sharp images of the Moon, the planets Jupiter and Saturn, and much more." How does the seller know this, given that the optical chain obviously does not function according to Mick's assessment? As I stated, the seller may have had all good intentions but to blatantly state this is false and brings down the reputation and perception of honest eBayers. I stand by my comments, but in the end he'll get his money. But I have reported him to eBay as per listing violations.

never had a lot of luck with that... Ebay is most probably burried in similar complaints, but I also advised him his claims where not achievable but especially so when you can't verify it. Its one of those things where Im not at all impressed if someone who knows little ends up with "garden art" but if its an ATM who buys it best of luck but an honest apprasial is the way to go not what looks like cut and paste from other adds, he's been nudged but chooses not to post any corrections. To me this is not being "honest" . Id look at it if it were here but then Im silly like that. Either way its not a sheep station so im not going to get overly stressed about it if someone wants to buy it for me and deliver it that would be nice

The term 'Lens' is commonly used by non-astronomical folk.
It is what they call the Eyepiece.
Back when this scope was made many EP's were made of brass.
Before this time all EP's were brass.
That's what he means. It has a Brass EP that has been stored away.
As an antique EP, or collectable EP (if it is in good nick) it will be worth $500 on its own with a FREE old telescope and mount thrown in
P.S. 18 minutes to go

Judging by eye- witness report & pics of the item I doubt the EP will be in a good nick...
Looks like high bidder is a new ebay user - feedback of 6.
Good luck to him.

If it has been stored safely it would be hard to know.
7 minutes to go, 22 bids and still at $540

I hope you are right for the sake of the high bidder.
I guess if it's 200-300mm lens in a top condition it would be a bargain...

$797 ??????
The only way this is a fair price if the optics is a hidden gem,
like a prof. 8" f15 Classical Cass. Somehow, I don't think so.
Brass lens?? What lens?
It was a 45deg. prism. The brass part was painted over...
Someone going to get very upset me think.
Or he/she going to join the IIS for help....
Mick.
