I prefer this rendition, it oozes quality and class, thanks for redoing it.

Love the "Punk Rock" description, sums it up very well. Too Lairy and headbanging before for my delicate palate....

Must be getting old....., anyway, back to my knitting and watching Judge Judy....

Thanks Chris.

I usually pullback my image processing having made the error endlessly in the past of overdoing things. I slipped into old habits there. hehe

I was a fellow Kellyvillian until a year ago. I built a backyard observatory in my house in Kellyville. Nice suburb.

Yes, it is a lovely place to live, even better now that I am going to be working in Norwest hee hee! I get to have 4 hours each day of my life back not sitting in traffic...

Pity you moved away, would have loved to have seen the setup in action and picked your brain....

Cheers

Chris

A CDK17 with a Tak FSQ106ED with reducer on top!!

I'll be doing some widefield images using that and the MMOAG ST402ME guiding at 3 metres focal length through the CDK17. So the CDK17 is the guidescope for the FSQ hehehe. If that doesn't give round stars nothing will! Plus a newly mounted Robofocus on the FSQ will help keep accurate focus which gets quite critical at F3.4 on that scope.

.... ...I hate you

Not a bad M42 there Greg, certainly great image scale again with some amazing large scale structures and some nice contrast. Maybe you could have extracted a little more clear detail in the core and some more star clour would be good but overall a cool image mate

Mike
oh and I don't hate you, that was just a term of endearment

I tweaked the core a bit and got some more detail. Its similar now to the black and white version I posted a few weeks ago. I tried to bring out more star colour and perhaps I did a tiny bit but its not there to bring out. Looks like I needed some shorter exposures. 10 minutes is probably a bit long for those stars.

Thanks Dougie. The big scope picks up a lot of data.

Yes I agree Shane. The first one went a bit pear shaped after using a Photoshop plugin for the first time.
